Statement.

Hey! It’s been a hot minute right? I know I owe the blog a huge post-curvycon post but I just can’t seem to gather the required energy to post all those many pictures. But curvycon was a blast and I had an amazing time getting to meet some of my favorite bloggers readers as well.
Getting back from the high of curvycon was a new job awaiting me and I’ve been pretty busy getting adjusted there, so excuse my lack of energy/posts.
But anyhow, this top has got to be one of my favorite purchases of the year. Mostly because of the dramatic flare, and I am prone to dramatics lol. But seriously, I am a sucker for a statement piece and when i saw this on a hanger, I knew I had to have it. I paired it with a faux leather pencil skirt to keep the focus on the top but I imagined pairing it with a sequin pant for a night look.
Like my new haircut? I do! It’s definitely way out of my comfort zone but I love it! It definitely makes me want to dress up that for sure because anything less will be doing it an injustice lol.

Embellishments.

I find that I have been making bolder choices with my wardrobe lately. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll probably never be that girl walking around in lingerie lol, but I have been stepping out of my comfort zone…some. Take this skirt for example, a year go I would have sent it back as soon as I tried it on. But I do love a voluminous skirt and I found myself making excuses for the length. Turns out, I absolutely loved wearing this skirt. I suffer from SLS (Short Leg Syndrome lol) and paired heels, my legs got some much needed length. And I guess its irrelevant to say that the embellishments were also a huge selling point.
Mini purses and cross bodies have also made the list of my favorite items lately. I usually go for oversized, structured bags but theres just something so feminine about a mini purse that just grabs my attention these days. I also like the contrast of this ultra feminine skirt with the edgy purse.

Asymmetrical.

If there is one thing I love, its a long flowy dress. And the moment I glanced at this dress on a hanger, I was a goner. This is probably the most comfortable dress in existence. I usually stay away from asymmetric hemlines since i have short legs, but the this one works well for me because of the drape of the fabric and pairing it with heels also helps.
Since the weather on this side of the world has been kinda chilly lately, I paired it with a moto jacket just to toughen up the look a little bit. Also decided to pull out this amazing turquoise necklace I picked up form Neiman Marcus for a steal. Statement jewelry makes me happy but statement jewelry for a steal, makes me deliriously happy.

Yet Another Denim Look

I always used to say “I’m not much of a denim girl” but apparently, I was wrong. I guess my hateration of denim was caused by the lack of beautiful designs for us plus sized women. But thankfully, we now have some plus size fashion companies that have been addressing that situation. I am really loving denim these days! Be it the destroyed boyfriend jean or a skinny jean, I wear them all.
And someone did tell me, “if your legs are not skinny, don’t wear skinny jeans” and my reply? “if these fat legs in a skinny jean offend you, look away and walk away because thats exactly what I am about to do since your word vomit offends me. So watch these fat legs in a skinny jean walk away”.

P.S: Peep these jewelry pieces that I’m wearing, Rocksbox review coming up soon!

Oversized Blazer & Fat Thighs

The word “shorts” usually make me cringe. Always have and hopefully will not always will. The only reason I had this pair from F21 staring at me from my closet was simply because i could not resist the destroyed, acid wash element of it. And while I would love to tell you otherwise, the courage to wear these shorts out of the house came from an impatient friend who basically told me to “shove your damn insecurities and wear the damn shorts, you know you want to”. And I did, mainly because I knew that she would handle anyone who looked at me with a side eye lol. But will shorts become a wardrobe favorite, eh…I don’t think so. Definitely not these short kind of shorts.
