Braids? Yes, braids. I needed a break for a few weeks and decided on them. So, it is no secret that I am a lover of  Fashion to Figure with their affordability and bold pieces, they had me at hello. Both pieces I have on are actually separates to a set. The crop top comes with a midi skater skirt and the wrap skirt comes with a crop top but I decided to separate these lovebirds into my own little outfit.
As a plus size girl with a tummy, crop tops are a bit tricky. One of my biggest tip for wearing a crop top would be: the bottoms. Be it a skirt or pants, pair with a bottom that can conceal the tummy area. As you can see with this wrap skirt, it conceals and enhances at the same time.
Try a crop top this summer and you just may be surprised at how much you like it.

Yellow Fever

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, this post is way past due and I apologize for the suspense, I swear it was not intentional. I am currently working towards a new template and I was waiting to launch it prior to posting these photos but the new template seems to be taking longer than I expected so…here.
Getting custom made clothing is usually a regular occurrence for most African women since we have occasions where wearing an African fabric is pretty much required. This dress steamed from one of such occasions, I drafted the design and let my very talented seamstress do the rest and as you can see, gone are the days of dowdy looking custom made dresses.
In case you were feeling undecided about trying custom made clothing, there are certain tips to follow. For example, finding the right tailor for you is maybe the most important. You want to make sure they understand your vision and add their input. You do not want someone who will make you whatever you tell them to, because sometimes our vision does not take into regard things like fabric type, grain placement, draping and so on. Sometimes, we also might want something that would not necessarily look the best on our body type. But with the right person, they know how to emphasize your best qualities and disguise your not so best qualities. And I found that person, so getting custom made dresses is always a pleasure for me.

Sporty Chic

I’m usually not a dressed down kinda girl in case you haven’t noticed. I love my high heels and dresses. But I recently started paying attention to adding casual pieces into my wardrobe, just because I want to be as versatile as I can. This jogger came into my closet as a result of said effort, and while I tried to go against my norm and pair it with some sneakers, I really could not! But I can definitely see myself wearing this jogger with a sweater and oxfords later on. And finally, can we talk about this top? I love love love it! It is a casual piece but can most definitely be dressed up or down as you please.

The Structured Dress.

I am very partial to a structured piece, which is why I fell in love with this dress. The scuba fabric is definitely a good fit for the plus size figure with its ability to stretch and conceal at the same time. Pair that with the pleats on this dress, and it is a must have for Sping/Summer.  Since there still is a bit of a chill in the air, it is pretty much routine to pair this look with some time of a jacket but I went with  a cropped sweater which fit like it was made for this dress. When shopping for my wardrobe,  I look for pieces that can easily transition to any kind of weather. For example, I can easily wear this dress in the cold of winter with some tights, boots and layer with a jacket.

Abstract Floral.

Hello! Happy belated Easter, happy new week and happy Spring!
Yes! I am excited about Spring finally making an appearance. As you can see, the cherry blossoms are out and the weather is just divine!
For Easter, I wore this stunning floral dress from Ashley Stewart that’s supposed to be a maxi dress but as you can see, it really is tea length and I love that about it. I paired this dress with an equally bright sandal.

Thanks for stopping by! And have a great week ahead.

But in the mean time, I’ve been trying to incorporate more solid colors to my wardrobe and I fell in love with this Vince Camuto top at first sight. It feels absolutely luxurious on your skin for one, and just looks pretty amazing.

Printed & Pleated.

Hello all!
Spring has finally sprung on my corner of the globe! And I could not wait to wear this box pleated skirt which was a sewing project from my sewing classes. I definitely love a pleated midi skirt. With so many ways to style them and the fact that they look great on various body shapes, pleated midi skirts should have a place in your closet. Now make it a printed pleated midi skirt and it definitely has a place in my closet.

Thanks for stopping by!
