Blaze of blazers

Blazer: Thrifted. Pants: Torrid (here). Top: Asos. Shoes: Barefoottess. Bracelets: Random. Watch: Mike

Hello lovelies!
Sorry  about the lack of posts, my internet service has been out of wack for about a week!
I have felt so out of touch with the world. I wonder what people did before the discovery of the world wide web.
Anyways, I just got it fixed last night and i wanted to share these pictures with you guys.
One of my best friends celebrated her birthday party by throwing a house party and this is what i wore.
I wanted to keep it casual but a little extravagant, thus the blazer.
I got this blazer some months back at a local thrift store. I had a little battle with myself before deciding to get it because it was kinda pricey at $34.99 but i finally decided to get it.
And i would say, it was a worthy buy. what do you think?

Hello lovelies,
So, my friends and I took a road trip to Pennsylvania to see the show Jonah at the Sights and Sounds theater. Needless to say, it was amazing.
Since it was a pretty long drive and I was the designated driver, I chose my outfit around comfort.
I made this tank maxi dress, threw on a crotchet top, and accessorized with some over the top pieces like this necklace from Target and the head wrap from  a scrap of fabric laying around my craft area
By the way, i haven’t been able to get on the internet in a bit because my apartment has been disconnected for a couple of days but i’m in the process of getting that fixed.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello lovelies!
So, I love the corporate, chic look lots but, for some reason I have always felt it was too much for my daily life since i do not have a “corporate job”. But I shoved that thought behind today and wore this outfit running errands and buying my new Canon Rebel T3 camera!
Of course I had my flats handy in my purse because i’m still in the process of learning how to be comfortable in flats, so i always have a pair of flats around especially when running errands.
I am currently getting to know my new camera and I can’t wait to launch it soon!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello lovelies,
So, i’m a lover of all things black but when the color movement came, I went with the flow. But every once in a while, I still go back to my old roots and pull out an all blacker. Although these days, I add a little pop of color, just to brighten it up a bit. I also added a statement necklace to add some flare and drama.
Anywhoo, I’ve been seeing these two toned shoes everywhere and decided to do a DIY version of my own. You like? I love! I’ll definitely be getting other patent shoes just to pull of this look in different colors.

Colored Denim: How Big Girls Rock It!

Hello lovelies!
So this is the first post in my new series The Trend: How Big Girls Rock it! And the first item I was asked to do is, the colored denim. The idea behind this new series is to show suggestions of pairings big girls can use to rock the season’s top trends. It’s meant to be something like an inspirational board where you can get ideas from.
The colored denim is a perfect way to incorporate some color into your wardrobe.
Where to get it
Avenue, Torrid, Macy’s, Fashion to Figure, Nordstrom, OneStopPlus, Lane Bryant, Ashley Stewart
Look 1
For the TOC (Terrified of Color) lol. To tone down the colored denim, go with shades of brown. This focuses attention on the denim without putting you on display. I opted for an oversized knitwear, which is also another trend this season.Fold over the bottom of the denim for a cropped look (another trend this season).
Top: TJ Maxx
 Denim/Bracelets: Avenue
Flats: Barefoottess.com
 Bag: Swap
Necklace/Watch: Macy’s
Earrings: Thrifted
Look 2
This is a more dressy pairing. A mix of black and white is definitely great with this blue denim so play with mixing them up. For example, a white tank and a black blazer for a chic lunch outfit or pair with red heels for some flavor.
Tee: Nordstrom
Denim: Avenue
Heels: Nine West
Bag: Zara
Necklace: Target
Bracelets: Ashley Stewart
Watch/Earrings: Macy’s
Look 3
A play on colors for a chic, casual, summer look. the combination of bright colors might not be your cup of tea but try something a little tame like, a pale yellow top or a pale peach for a color blocked kind of look.
Top: Fashion to Figure
Denim: Avenue
Wedges: Payless
Bag: Michael Kors
Necklace: Sears
Earrings: Thrifted
Bracelets: Ashley Stewart
Watch: Macy’s
Hope this helps!
And please give suggestions of other item pairings you would like to see.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs and kisses!

Denim + Lace

Lace dress & denim top: Torrid. Sandals & watch: Avenue. Mini dress: Clothing swap. Necklace: Thrifted. Bracelet: Dots. Earrings: Macy’s.

Hello lovelies,
So i love the concept of pairing something that is supposedly so feminine like lace with something tough, like denim so i wore this for a lazy day in town with one of my bestie.
I definitely got a lot of looks in this lol.
Anyways, did you notice something different about my blog? *excited dance* did ya?
I got a new banner! yay!
I’ve been thinking about getting one for a while but i’m not the most computer techy girl so i contacted a guy and i tell you, i screamed when i was given a price. I mean screamed in a good way. It was sooo within my budget (being a broke student as I am)
It was designed by the “Power Players” and if you need anything designed, like a banner, logo, website, brochure, and so on you can contact him via email or text @
power.players@yahoo.com or
240.489.7971
I wasn’t paid for this shout out but I am a very satisfied customer and his prices are very decent for the other quotes that i have been getting from previous designers.
P.S: I opted for a very basic, understated look but he is capable of dramatic, over the top stuff. the first draft he sent me says as much but i decided to go with the understated option.
Anywhoo, I have decided to do a new series on my blog call The Trend: How Big Girls Rock It!
The concept is, you guys can pick a trend like say colored denim, neon and so on and i’ll post 3 different ways to wear that trend. So keep the ideas coming and i’ll work on them as soon as i get it!
Hugs & Kisses!
